Cleaning up the area between Vadu Soresti and Pruneni - - Stream + Road on 9th May c.y.
The project "Promoting rural tourism and environment protection - LEISURE&CHINESE"
The "junior" heroes of this action were a group of children in second grade from the "Constantin Popescu" school in Fundeni (village pertaining also to Zarnesti commune, same as Vadu Soresti) and a group of highschool students from "Mihai Eminescu" College in Buzau.
The "seniors" are two professors and one teacher from the above mentioned schools, mister mayor, mister vice-mayor and mister forester who is a counselor of the Zarnesti commune's townhall.
We extend our warmest thanks to both categories of participants and supporters and also to the mayor's office.
We extend our warmest thanks to both categories of participants and supporters and also to the mayor's office.
The action ended with the mayor's office providing trilingual diplomas (Romanian, French and English) of voluntary work to the participants, they were handed out by mister vice-mayor.
The mayor's office (in particular mister vice-mayor and mister forester) handled the transportation of the sorted waste directly to the collection facility, and they also supplied the gloves and waste bags. It was also the mayor's office that supplied the local school bus for bringing the children from Buzau and then back.
In about 4 hours we gathered, besides unrecyclable waste, 53kg of PETs and 2kg of aluminum cans, for which we got 37 lei= app.9.5$=app.8.5euro, money which will go into our NGO's fund (created later this month).
After about one month, when I walked the trail with Stefi and Cristiana (I talked about this in our earlier post), at the entrance of the forest Nania from Pruneni we found ONLY ONE PET. We are not sure if this is the effect of our action, but still, it is good! :-)

The next action of this type will be in July and it will have as goal cleaning up the Calnau brook, for which we will ask for support from the mayor's office in Racoviteni commune, our neighbour. Who wants to join us?
See you soon!
